A Study of Effective English Teaching--Interpretation of Jerome Bruner’s The Process of Education

The four central ideas (the importance of structure, preparation for learning, intuitive thinking and analytical thinking, and motivation for learning) and one proposal (teaching aids) put forward by Jerome Seymour Bruner in The Process of Education are important guidelines and approaches for effective learning. This report analyzes the educational significance and scientific implementation methods of these four central ideas and one proposal, and combines the teaching philosophy with English teaching to explore the effectiveness and feasibility of applying “the importance of structure”, “preparation for learning”, “intuitive thinking and analytical thinking”, “motivation for learning”, and “teaching aids” to English teaching, thereby providing enlightenment for effective high-quality English teaching.
